- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with sour cream.
- Mix until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Drop a spoonful of cookie dough onto a baking sheet, sprinkle with brown sugar mixture and nuts if using, then top with another spoonful of dough.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let cool before icing with powdered sugar mixed with a little water.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- These cookies freeze well.
- Adjust the cinnamon to taste.
