Description

Venezuelan Cachapas with Cheese are sweet corn pancakes filled with cheese. They are a popular dish in Venezuela, often enjoyed for breakfast or as a snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cheese (Queso Blanco or similar)
  • Butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Blend corn kernels, cornmeal, milk, sugar, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  3. Pour 1/4 cup of the batter into the skillet for each cachapa.
  4. Cook for 3-4 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Repeat with remaining batter.
  6. Place cheese on top of cachapas while still hot.
  7. Fold or roll the cachapas and serve warm.
